EXCLUSIVE: Rise of the Planet of the Apes Gives Caesar Just One Word of Dialogue!

Rise of the Planet of the Apes lets Caesar have one word
Rise of the Planet of the Apes lets Caesar have one word
After the most recent Rise of the Planet of the Apes trailer, which debuted yesterday, many fans have started to wonder if Caesar, the ape behind this primate uprising, will learn how to speak in chapter one of what is planned as a series of new Planet of the Apes prequels.

Those who have read early drafts of the script know that Caesar does learn to talk, but this has been a concern of the filmmakers as the movie works through its final stages of editing. When should he speak, how much should he speak, and what should he say?

We have it on good authority that Caesar will, in fact, speak just one word of dialogue during the final scene, which follows the climatic end battle sequence on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge between ape and man. But what is that one word of dialogue?

***SPOLIER***

What will Caesar's first and only spoken word be when he turns to face star James Franco before escaping into the woods? After much consideration, and in a nod to Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes, Caesar will quietly, stoically utter the word, "Bananas."

You will have to wait until August 5th, 2011 to find out in what context this word is used, when Rise of the Planet of the Apes arrives in theaters nationwide this summer.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes was released August 5th, 2011 and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, Tom Felton, David Oyelowo, Tyler Labine, Jamie Harris. The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt.

@ejk1 I'm holding out hope that we get that speech in a sequel and that Lisa is there too. Bringing in Lisa in the sequel is a definite must do. However, I think the speech could work if they substitute Franco's character for Lisa, although I'd be a smidge unhappy with that.

@jptheredskull That only works if Lisa speaks as well, dude.

@jptheredskull,,,the speach Ceasar makes at the end of Escape, damn imagine if he does it again in this film with his fellow apes around him and the humans looking on in horror knowin that the future belongs to Ceasar and his kind from hear on out, now that would be a great and scary way to end the film and move on the war between man and apes, as the director said he wanted to do with the sequels...

oh and i'd actually like to thank movieweb for pretty much ruining the whole movie, not to mention the end of it by posting this story. is it really that slow a day in movie news that you couldn't let us watch the movie ourselves and see how it turns out? f*cking f*cktards. i agree with @jaysonb190 this is not a story. they should have just left it alone.

"Where there is fire, there is smoke. And in that smoke, from this day forward, my people will crouch, and conspire, and plot, and plan for the inevitable day of Man's downfall. The day when he finally and self-destructively turns his weapons against his own kind. The day of the writing in the sky, when your cities lie buried under radioactive rubble! When the sea is a dead sea, and the land is a wasteland out of which I will lead my people from their captivity! And we will build our own cities, in which there will be no place for humans except to serve our ends! And we shall found our own armies, our own religion, our own dynasty! And that day is upon you NOW!"

"But now... now we will put away our hatred. Now we will put down our weapons. We have passed through the night of the fires, and those who were our masters are now our servants. And we, who are not human, can afford to be humane. Destiny is the will of God, and if it is man's destiny to be dominated, it is God's will that he be dominated with compassion, and understanding. So, cast out your vengeance. Tonight, we have seen the birth of the planet of the apes!"

THIS IS WHAT HE SHOULD SAY!!! NOT BANANAS.. though that is funny as hell.

    @DuaneBarry that was hilarious.

  21. Nawtnt

Ceaser would say Goodbye or Hatred.

Wish Caesar would say more like he says:

    1)I wants bannas
    2)Kiss my ass
3)Why did you do Your Highness after 127 hours, James.
    4) I need a sh*t.
    5) Like Arine said, I'll Be Back.
    6) Get the f*ck out of my mouth, bitch.
    7) Who's daddy now, bitch
    8) Call Me.
    9) Apes Rule.
    10) Yo man, I need weed.

All those lines were jokes but still I hope the film will be great and it finishes with a great ending.
