EXCLUSIVE: Micah Sloat Drops Some Paranormal Activity 2 Tidbits

Micah Sloat talks Paranormal Activity Sequel
Micah Sloat talks Paranormal Activity Sequel
Micah Sloat was a big part of the horror film that took the moviegoing world by storm like few films ever have, Paranormal Activity, which will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 29. I just got off the phone with Sloat, who was promoting the new DVD/BD release, and, of course, I had to ask what was going on with Paranormal Activity 2 as well. While I couldn't get any story details out of him, Sloat did have some interesting things to say, like how they are determined to not make the film a cookie-cutter horror sequel.

Micah Sloat: I can't say anything specific about it, but I can definitely tell you that Paramount and the producers are very aware of what happened with Blair Witch 2, and how you can't really take something that's unique like Blair Witch or Paranormal and then follow it up with just a typical, Hollywood horror film. It just doesn't work. I think you can expect Paranormal Activity 2 to be just as unique, or at least have a quality of uniqueness, just like the original did, in its own way and I think it's really going to be a great movie.

Sloat also wouldn't say when they were planning to get into production with a sequel, and it seems lie they're keeping everything rather tight-lipped about this sequel. Be sure to keep it right here as we'll keep you posted with any and all Paranormal Activity 2 news as soon as we have more information.

Make sure to keep an eye out in the next few days for my full interview with Micah Sloat for the Paranormal Activity DVD and Blu-ray, which hits shelves on December 29.

Paranormal Activity 2 was released October 22nd, 2010 and stars Katie Featherston. The film is directed by Tod Williams.

If they DO make a P.A. sequel, I think they should make an actual big budget "Movie" type sequel; now that they have such funding! Don't get me wrong, the original filming was AWESOME and very scary! But, perhaps they could tell the story of the lady possesed by the demon prior to it haunting Katie; and maybe the reason it went to Katie at 8 yrs old; the house fire...ect...but on a Hollywood film-type scale! Just a thought?!

Did you not see the spoiler-------------------- thing? I thought I made it pretty obvious. It's not like the movie is that important anyway, it will be forgotten in a couple months so relax. If it were a big movie that was worthwhile, then yeah I'd somewhat agree with you, but I warned you, on a so-so film no less, so there's nothing to worry about.
