I just got off the phone with Kick-Ass comic book co-creator John Romita Jr., where we talked about the new DVD and Blu-ray release that just hit the shelves. Of course, I still wanted to know more about the impending sequel, Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, particularly about the villain in the film. He mentioned in an interview we did with him back in April that the new villain would be called Mother F*cker, and I just had to know more about that. As it turns out, Mother F*cker is what Christopher Mintz-Plasse's Red Mist evolves into for the sequel. Here's what he had to say about this new villain... and what he used to be called.

I believe you said in an earlier interview with my co-worker that the villain was going to be called Mother F*cker.

John Romita Jr.: That's what he's (Mark Millar) sticking to and, boy oh boy, if you thought the one word in the first movie that caused most people to growl, that came out of that little girl's mouth... Mark loves to out-do himself. He expects that when we work together, that we always out-do ourselves. I'm trying to come up with sick ways to kill people, he's coming up with foul words and foul names. Expect the unexpected when it comes to us. I can't give you a whole lot more, because I told Mark I'd shut my yap.

You can't even give us a little description of what Mother F*cker might look like, or his character mannerisms?

John Romita Jr.: I can give you a description. First, I've got to tell you, at the end of the first issue, the first series, was the first appearance of his character. The name that Mark had in mind was The C*nt. I've got to tell you, and I hope this is printable, when I designed the character, I wanted the costume to have curly-Q spikes coming out of it, that were reminiscent of pubic hairs.

(Laughs)

John Romita Jr.: My wife said, 'You can't do that. That's tacky. Straighten out the hairs.' So, when you see the costume, at the end of the issue, there's little spikes, on the legs and arms, they were intended - you're the only person that knows this other than my wife - they were intended to be pubic hairs, because he was The C*nt. This is what happens when you have idle time and your mind starts to wander. Now, it may not work out that way, because his name is not going to be The C*nt, it's going to be The Mother F*cker. But, I swear, this is a benchmark moment in American literature, in British literature - Mother F*cker, previously named The C*nt. It will set the standard for American literature.

Wow. That's awesome.

John Romita Jr.: You're the first person I've told that to. Nobody knows about the costume looking like that. For that reason.

Wow. Thank you so much for that. These weird images are floating through my head and I'm trying to picture someone playing that on screen.

John Romita Jr.: It's intended to be the same actors from the first movie. I don't know what will happen by the time the film is ready. But as far as I know, the bad guy is played by the bad guy at the end of the first film, Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
