Fans of the HBO series Entourage got the news they were waiting for last month, when Warner Bros. finally gave the green light to the Entourage movie, with production starting in January. I caught up with series star Jerry Ferrara at the AFI Fest premiere of Lone Survivor last night, where he spoke about how far after the series finale the movie is set.
Jerry Ferrara talks the Entourage movie and 7500
"I do worry about giving too much away, but just in sticking with the theme of what the show was, it was never like three years later. I don't think it will be a situation like that. I think it picks up not long after it was left off. I don't know what the time frame is, but it's not three years later."
We also talked about when his thriller 7500 might be coming out. The thriller directed by Takashi Shimizu (Kiki's Delivery Service) takes place on a trans-continental flight, was originally slated to debut in August 2012, but CBS Films yanked it from their schedule, and we haven't heard anything about it since then. Here's what he had to say about the project.
"You know, I don't actually have a full on update, other than, from what I've heard, it's good. I think it's coming out soon, actually. I think it's going to be one of those things where, once it comes out, people will see it and go, 'Why didn't this come out sooner?' I don't know, I'm going to get an update. It's a good question."
Entourage comes to theaters June 12th, 2015 and stars Jeremy Piven, Jerry Ferrara, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Billy Bob Thornton, Ronda Rousey, Haley Joel Osment. The film is directed by Doug Ellin.
7500 comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Jamie Chung, Leslie Bibb, Amy Smart, Ryan Kwanten, Scout Taylor-Compton, Nicky Whelan, Jerry Ferrara, Christian Serratos. The film is directed by Takashi Shimizu.
