EXCLUSIVE: Danny Trejo Talks Machete Blu-ray and DVD!

Available on DVD and Blu-ray starting January 4th is the latest film from director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City), Machete. The movie is a full-length version of the trailer that was first seen in Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's Grindhouse, and it stars veteran actor Danny Trejo (Heat) reprising the title role. The film also stars an all-star cast, which includes Jessica Alba (Sin City), Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar), Cheech Marin (Desperado), Jeff Fahey (The Lawnmower Man), Don Johnson (Dead Bang), Steven Seagal (Above the Law), Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls) and two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro (Raging Bull). We recently had a chance to sit down with the star of the film, Danny Trejo, to discuss the origins if the character, his relationship with Robert Rodriguez, the film's villains: Fahey, Johnson, Seagal and De Niro, the possibility of a director's cut and the films sequel, Machete Kills. Machete is based on the fake trailer in Robert Rodriguez's 2007 Grindhouse, featuring Danny Trejo and Jeff Fahey reprising their original roles. The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Steven Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Cheech Marin) his holy brother, and April (Lindsay Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Jessica Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

Machete was released September 3rd, 2010 and stars Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson. The film is directed by Ethan Maniquis, Robert Rodriguez.
