Eli Roth explains how to find the hidden artwork that was originally intended to be used as the horror film's follow-up
Well, in a recent interview, Roth revealed to us that an Easter Egg on the Cabin Fever standard issue DVD release actually shows what his sequel was supposed to be. He told us:
If you have the original Cabin Fever DVD, hidden in the menu selections are little sketches. You can watch them all in a row. It's an Easter Egg on the DVD. If you go to the last page, where it is scenes 25-26-27, and you let it play through two music cycles, the "Cough" bird will come out. When you see the "Cough" bird, if you hit enter, it will play all of the Deputy Winston sketches. And it ends with Deputy Winston and the "Cough" bird. If you look at that last scene, with Deputy Winston and the "Cough" bird, that's what the entire sequel was supposed to be. LionsGate saw that and looked at me like I was insane. The prequel to my sequel. The only connector between Cabin Fever and the sequel that I had in my head is this Easter Egg on the DVD. The original DVD. Not the Blu-ray.
The uncensored director's cut of Cabin Fever on Blu-ray and the standard issue DVD release of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Break are in stores today.

Ok, ok. I just watched the trailer for part 2. It actually looks fairly good. I think I will check it out after all.
And check out the dude cutting his hand off and taping it up..... Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn??? Me thinks so. "Whoooo's laughing Nowwwwwwww!?"

I'm glad that Lionsgate has some ethics, that they told Roth to get bent. WHat kind of crap would that be? Animated animals raping dead bodies!? Is Roth a total freakin' demented perv or what? This guy seriously needs help. Unless it was all a joke. But that's just sick man.
And the original did rock. Roth did admit that it was an homage to one of my favorites, Evil Dead. So for that, I respect the original.
Haven't seen part 2. But the "Spring Fever" part of the title makes me think it would be more about stupid teens, walking through creepy woods, calling out for their friends to stop joking with them (like in every Friday the 13th movie), when they have no logical reason to believe that their friends are even out in the woods to begin with. Pass!
