The star of Breaking Bad discusses his upcoming roles in both the adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs' novel and George Lucas' Tuskegee Airman film
We recently had an opportunity to speak with Bryan Cranston at the premiere of the third season of Breaking Bad and asked him about his upcoming films. "They're great projects, both of them," stated the actor. "I have more to shoot on John Carter Of Mars but it's a terrific film directed by Andrew Stanton and starring Taylor Kitsch," Cranston continued. "It was fun." We followed up by asking the actor if he had been familiar with the novels that the film is based on before he took the part? "No I wasn't familiar at all with them," he admitted. "Andrew Stanton introduced me to them so I didn't know that Edgar Rice Burroughs had even written this stuff. (Stanton) was a longtime boyhood fan of the novels so he was excited about doing the film." Cranston went on to tell us a little bit about the character that he plays in the film. "My character is a civil war Colonel and a nemesis at the start to Taylor as John Carter and then we find a common bond." We also wanted to know more about Red Tails and asked the actor if he knew when it would be released? "Red Tails is in post-production and there is a tremendous amount of CGI to do on it so I'm not exactly sure when that is coming out," he confessed. Finally, we had to ask Cranston if George Lucas was on set while he was shooting and if so, what it was like to work with the legendary filmmaker? "He was, he was on the set and it was great. He's a master. It's like ... if you're not doing Star Wars ... at least you're doing something else with him."
John Carter From Mars is scheduled for release in 2012 and Red Tails is scheduled for release later this year, while the third season of Breaking Bad premieres Sunday, March 21st on AMC, while Breaking Bad: The Complete Second Season is on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, March 16th.
Red Tails was released January 20th, 2012 and stars Bryan Cranston, Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Daniela Ruah, Michael B. Jordan, Aml Ameen, Tristan Wilds, Ne-Yo. The film is directed by Anthony Hemingway.
John Carter comes to theaters March 9th, 2012 and stars Taylor Kitsch, Lynn Collins, Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Willem Dafoe, CiarĂ¡n Hinds, Dominic West, Thomas Haden Church. The film is directed by Andrew Stanton.

"The terminally-ill meth-dealer with a heart of gold..."
Heart of gold? Jami Philbrick clearly doesn't watch Breaking Bad.

Solar XI
He's one of the few actors to make it past the comedy series and into drama or at least into a feature. Examples would be the cast of Friends, with the exception of Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox; The King of Queens except Jerry Stiller and Kevin James; and even Seinfeld... you get the picture.
