True Evil Dead fans will see this regardless of the fact that Bruce is not in it. Those who shun the movie because he's not in it are simply Bruce fanboys. I've been pining for any type of Evil Dead fix ever since a sequel or remake was hinted at. I've never been more stoked for a movie.

Surprised to see all the hate for a really talented writer like Diablo Cody. This looks gross and awesome. I like the passion they've put into making it an homage to the original while still trying to make their own unique take on it.

You know, the part where she cuts her tongue with the blade isn't too scary. You can see people getting their tongues split on youtube. She's just doing it herself for free.
I looked a bit closer and the classic looks like it's just a run down heap like it was left there from another group. Maybe it's supposed to be left from Ash, Scotty and the ladies.
She's cutting her arm off with the turkey carving knife because it's possessed. They took the scene from Evil Dead II.

@craig-bosko i think that's why they brought in diablo cody. she was meant to refine some of the dialogue and make it a little more humorous throughout.

While it definitely looks cool, the trailer suggests they abandoned any humor and went for an all-out bloodfest with the typical disposable characters. I hope the heroine has charisma. Ash is one of my top five film characters of all time. It's just a trailer so hopefully I am totally wrong.

what i hate is, being that we are now in the 21st century with more advancements in the Film industry and efforts are being made to revamp a old movie.. there is always someone arguing that "they are a fan of the older version and they dont know bout the new version.. why not just shut up, wait til the movie is out.. go watch then u make your criticism, they remake movies for a reason... and please movies are suppose to be entertainment.. most of you dummies act as if its a life altering event.. get over it.. if you dont like it.. sheesh.. this looks real good, cant wait

I am a humongous fan of the original, and I should hate even the idea of a remake of that classic, but this trailer has me sold. I can even look past that Diablo Cody has credit on this, despite my hatred for her. I am really excited for this. I mean, for Christ's sake, they just showed me a girl cutting her tongue in half. My month has been made.
