Evil Dead Poster

The first poster for Evil Dead claims that this will be the most terrifying film you will ever experience. That's a mighty bold claim, one we hope director Fede Alvarez can back up. Its going to take a lot more than gore to scare today's audiences. Jane Levy takes over the Ash role, playing a young drug addict who flees to a cabin in the woods for a clean sweep detox. What she finds in the basement is more horrifying than any LSD trip. Check out the Suburgatory star as she begins her decent into madness, on the eve of a nasty encounter with the infamous 'Rape Vine'.

I'm feeling the poster, sans tagline. That's just... too bold and disinteresting.

Unless Stephen King is saying that, no thank you. This reminds of one of the dozens of those exorcism movie posters.

Yes, but not quite. The tagline brings it down, quite a bit.

is that her left arm under her right arm? either way, the trailer definitely surpassed my expectations...i feel like the tagline is too cliched and bold though and will disinterest people instead of excite them.

The trailer for this film is very dark. I wasn't expecting to be so dark. I am a fan of the previous Evil Dead films and Army of Darkness. I enjoyed them precisely because they balanced darkness, gore, and horror with humor and campiness. This new film looks entirely dark with no sort of the classic humor and campy feel. This could be a good thing, and it could be a bad thing. Overall I'm looking forward to this new Evil Dead and I think it will live up to the originals in many respects, but with such different aesthetic and feel, it may tank.
