Errol Morris to Direct Untitled Cryonics Project

In a story from Variety, famed documentary filmmaker Errol Morris will be directing an Untitled Cryonics Project for Mandate Pictures and Film Rites.

Morris is best known for documentary films like The Fog of War and The Thin Blue Line.

Zach Helm is writing the screenplay.

The film is inspired by Robert F. Nelson's memoir "We Froze the First Man" and a story from National Public Radio's "This American Life" titled "You're as Cold as Ice."

The real life story follows Nelson, a TV repairman who in the 1960s got involved with a group of people who tested cryonics. However, reanimating frozen dead people wasn't as easy as Nelson thought it would be.
