Ericson Core to Direct XXX: The Return of Xander Cage
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel reprises his role of the extreme sports athlete-turned-government operative he originated in the 2002 movie directed by Rob Cohen. Diesel and Cohen skipped the 2005 sequel, XXX: State of the Union, which starred Ice Cube and was directed by Lee Tamahori.
Last year, Diesel and Cohen agreed to reteam for the new installment, but in June, Cohen opted to direct Medieval for Regency.
John Brancato and Michael Ferris wrote the script that involves Cage's return to the National Security Agency after an eight-year absence. Richard Wilkes, who wrote the original movie, did a recent polish.
Production will begin early next year.
XXX: The Return of Xander Cage was released in 2011 and stars Vin Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Rob Cohen.

The death of xander cade is actually non-caniocal to the story of XXX.
This is set after State Of The Union.
The screenplay is quite cheesy, its about 9 or 8 warheads that Xander has to get back in safe arms and that he infilitrates one of the organisations because he looks like one of the character so he'll be playing 2 roles.

This is pure stupidity. I knew about this third film for months now. My thought is, in XXX2 they guy tells Scott Speedman that Xander Cage was killed Bora Bora. In the first film it ends with Xander and that girl in Bora Bora. This entire film, if it is set before the events of State of the Union, XXX3 will have to be set entirely in Bora Bora. THAT'S TERRIBLE.

Now, Xander Cage is supposed to be dead, right. They talked about him dying in the beginning of State of the Union. I guess he's going to be a zombie or something.
I remember when the first XXX came out. Everyone was talking about how dead the Bond franchise is, and XXX franchise is going to be the new future. And yet the Bond franchise is still here.
