Eric Bana set to portray Elvis Presley
Danny Huston is in final negotiations to play President Richard Nixon in the movie, which centers on a Dec. 21, 1970, visit that Elvis Presley paid to Richard Nixon at the White House.
The meeting was initiated by Elvis Presley, who wrote Richard Nixon a six-page letter requesting a visit and suggesting that he be made a "Federal Agent-at-Large" in the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Elvis Presley brought with him family photos and a Colt 45 pistol as a personal gift to the president.
Cary Elwes wrote the screenplay along with Joey Sagal and Hanala Sagal.
The movie will film in Shreveport, La., and Los Angeles.

Cary Elwes actually has a better rep as director than actor. Besides the idea being a little warped for a film, it can still be made well.

@Number1Wolverine@junior-roberts@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx@bawnian-dexeus Guys, this is yet another remake! The original was fantastic! Loved this movie. "Elvis Meets Nixon" details the two days in December of 1970 when Elvis Presley, for reasons known but to himself, left his home in home in Memphis, Tennessee on his own for the first time in his adult life, criss-crossing the country to Washington, DC, then to Los Angeles, CA, and finally back to DC for a meeting with...President Richard Nixon. I was pleasantly surprised at how much damn fun this movie was. Quirky, funny & good story. It's a must see, whether you're an Elvis fan or not, you will love this movie! I urge everyone to go out and rent this hidden gem. A word to Hollywood - Seriously!?! Can't you guys come up with something original these days?

@junior-roberts -- Thank you! That, and this seems like a complete miscast.

Is it just me or does this sound like a really bad movie? An entire film based on the meeting of Elvis and Nixon? Where's the conflict? What's the plot? #Fail
I prefer a movie based on his life and career.

Bana's ok but it's too bad Val Kilmer is too old to play him now, because he made one hell of a Elvis in True Romance.
