Enter the Dragon Gets Remade by Warner Independent

Enter the Dragon is being remade by Warner Independent Pictures as a noir thriller. According to Variety, The Shield executive producer Kurt Sutter will be making his feature directing debut with the film, currently entitled Awaken the Dragon.

Sutter is also writing the script, which will be a contemporary drama that follows a lonely F.B.I. agent into the bloody world of underground martial arts fighting. There, he must track a renegade Shaolin monk who has been causing a lot of problems for the local police force.

Sutter stated, "I'm a huge noir fan, and this plot lends itself to the film I want to make. I wanted to set it in these underground fight clubs where the action is really raw and expose the brutality of Shaolin Kung fu. This will be more Raging Bull than Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon in its viciousness."

Sutter is looking to cast an unknown fighter for the role of the monk. He will cast a well-known American actor for the role of the F.B.I. agent. The film will most likely go into production before the end of the year.

Sutter better do it right or it could explode in his face, in other words be a really bad movie that should have been made at all, even stright to video. He got to try not have any copying or look like of any Chinese movie like John Woo, Ringo Lam, Cory Yuen and Gorden Chan's when it comes to the action sceens. Alsodon't have anything that would make moviegoers say it almost like Van Damme's Bloodsport or Kickbocker. Sutter should look back to the old days's Hard Boiled police stories during the golden age of Hollywood, and see what is today's version of that in the business and use that style to tell the story.
