Emmy Rossum Talks Dragonball

Dragonball hits the blogs:

Actress Emmy Rossum has shared some of her thoughts on the new Dragonball movie.

"Sorry I've been rather quiet for a bit, I've been working on a very exciting new film that I'm shooting outside the US. I'm working with the great Chow Yun Fat and I'm very excited about the role, which is so different than any role I've ever played. I love the character and I'm excited to get to share something so fun with you. In prep for the film I've been training very hard, learning how to fight, fire a gun, weapons training and even some martial arts. It's fun to play such a different character when I am such a pacifist in real life."

Dragonball opens on August 15 and stars Justin Chatwin, James Marsters, Jamie Chung alongside Rossum and Yun-Fat.

Dragonball Evolution was released April 10th, 2009 and stars Justin Chatwin, Chow Yun-Fat, Emmy Rossum, Jamie Chung, James Marsters, Joon Park, Eriko Tamura, Randall Duk Kim. The film is directed by James Wong.

    yeh thats what im sayin lightning, check out my forum. But i think that they are doing this movie, and putting effort into new games and remastered dvd's to keep a hold of the fans, and thus, yes this movie should be how the fans want it. Action packed epic with nearly no cheezy stuff

    I dont believe this movie will be that good, but as long as they aim it towards an adult audience and dont foul it up too much, they will be able to salvage it with a DBZ sequel to follow, which is obviously what everyone really wants to see... there just trying to get some more money out of it by splitting the movies and showing the origin, which shouldn't surprise anyone

    Emmy Rossum is cute, she's got potential.
    What's she doing in a movie like this that might have a 50-50 chance of failure?!

    This is a Japanese based story that have its main characters played by white Americans, the movie is filmed in Mexico and it's produced by Stephen Chow--a Chinese filmmaker.

    Anybody else see how messed up this is?

    Sounds like a nice cast except for Chatwin. Chatwin is white. I find it hard to believe that an alien from another planet will be white. Goku looks asian. There should have found someone that looks more asian. Like a mixed asian type like Keanu, but younger of course or maybe a hispanic actor. Chatin is the only one out of place. I hope he can get in shape for this movie, because right now his physique is not very realistic.

    I hope this film will be a surprise and actually be good, cause Chatwin is not looking like a good cast for Goku.

    I'm still scepticle. I love the anime, but still don't think it will adapt to a live action, big screen title well. I have seen more promise out of this as the weeks go by, and I must admit to being a little interested at this point. I get the feeling they are trying to make it more adult, and less cartoony than we all expect. I guess time will tell.
