Emma Roberts has just signed on to star in the live-action canine flick Hotel for Dogs. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is an adaptation of Lois Duncan's popular novel.

The story follows two orphaned teenagers who start hiding a bunch of dogs in a rundown hotel. Thor Freudenthal is making his directorial debut with the film. Jeff Lowell wrote the screenplay.

The film will be released in the early part 2009.

Hotel for Dogs was released January 16th, 2009 and stars Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Don Cheadle, Johnny Simmons, Kyla Pratt, Troy Gentile, Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon. The film is directed by Thor Freudenthal.
