Diego Luna has landed a role in Elysium
Diego Luna will play Julio, the best friend of Matt Damon's character. Oddly enough, this is the most information we have so far on Matt Damon's role. Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, William Fichtner, and Alice Braga have already joined the cast of Elysium.
Neill Blomkamp will direct Elysium from his own original screenplay, which is rumored to be set 100 years in the future on another planet. Bill Block and Simon Kinberg are producing.
Production is scheduled to start sometime this summer.
Elysium comes to theaters August 9th, 2013 and stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga, Michael Shanks, Talisa Soto, Diego Luna. The film is directed by Neill Blomkamp.

I think this is really going to be great! If District 9 was his first film.....I can only imagine how great his second film will be!

I'm interested as to how big this films budget will be. Seeing what Blomkamp did with $30mil in District 9 was a huge surprise, as well as a huge burden (no doubt lightened by WETA's awesomeness). Also, is Peter Jackson still executive producing this, or no? Just curious...
