Elisabeth Shue Confirmed for Piranha 3D

Actress Elisabeth Shue is officially confirmed to join Alexandre Aja's Piranha 3D.

According to Moviehole, Shue will board this redo of Joe Dante's film, and here's what they had to say:

Shue is playing the role of Sherrif Julie Forester, a take-charge authority figure in the community of Lake Victoria - where the action/ankle-biting takes place. She's the mother of Jake (one of the central characters in the film - the shy teenager who gets to prove his worth when human-eating fish threaten his family and friends), Laura and Zane.

Piranha 3D will soon start production in Arizona. Dimension Films is planning a March 19, 2010 release.

I for one cant wait for this remake , I really enjoy Aja's work ( Havent seen mirrors yet ) , and after seeing My bloody Valentine in 3-d and beeing pleasently suprise by the horror 3-d stuff
, I have a feeling 3-d might work for this film , and Like someone already said Pirhana 2 was in 3-d , so i dont think Aja is foing it has a gimmick but more has an hommage to the sequel

i was always a huge fan of the origianl but ive been jonsing for a remake even before Aja talk about remaking it .

Aja has proven with The hills have eyes that there is nothing like a director/writer that is a big fan of the original to do the remake

Shue is a good actress that can achieve greatness depending on the director if you dont agree with me watch Leaving Las Vegas

I cant wait to see some image of this flick

I already believe that back in the day "Piranha Part Two: The Spawning" was in 3-D!??

I guess that Oscar Nod never helped Elisabeth Shue's career ...I guess the rent is due!>>>!

3d is bad, blah, blah, blah...like anything, its how it's implemented to compliment the story (and to grab the attention deficit disordered kids weened on seizure-inducing video games).

James Cameron's upcoming Avatar (November) will prove its cool again to adults...kids love it already.

3Dis a gimick, and if you need a gimmick to sell your flick then maybe you need to rethink your approach to movue making.

LOL I remember watching a crappy b horror movie when I was little entitled Piranha. I wonder if it's the same thing. I think it is.

3D movies are lame. they blow storytelling, acting and plot all for the effects that are as lame as 3D TV commercials. *yawn* seriously, do you think any movie studio head woke up and said "you know what cinema needs? a "piranha" remake!" however, someone says let's make a Piranha remake, but in 3D and they're all like "yeah - that'll sell tickets." story? "who needs it - it's in 3D!" *lame*

It could be entertaining if they do it right. Aja is a good director and I like his films so it should be alright.
