Elijah Wood will star in the Maniac remake
The original movie centered on a serial killer in New York City who murders young women, which he sees as revenge for being abused by his mother as a child. Elijah Wood will play the serial killer, but no details were given regarding Nora Arnezeder's character, although she will likely play one of the victims.
Franck Khalfoun (P2) will direct from a screenplay by Alexandre Aja and Grégory Levasseur, who are also producing. Production is slated to begin later this year.
Maniac was released December 26th, 1980 and stars Joe Spinell, Caroline Munro, Abigail Clayton, Kelly Piper, Rita Montone, Tom Savini, Hyla Marrow, James Brewster. The film is directed by William Lustig.

Pretty much agree with sky, he was good in Sin City as a killer so i'm pretty sure he will be great in this.

He was awesome as Kevin in Sin City and as much as i hate remakes...Maniac might be one of those that could benefeit from an update. Elijah is a strange guy, he can be the most innocent or the creepiest. I wouldnt be interested if his name wasn not on this.
