According to The Hollywood Reporter, El Cid will finally be released on DVD on January 29 by the WeinsteinCo and Genius Products. It will be the first in the Weinstein's Miriam Collection of DVD's, named after Bob and Harvey's mother. The 1961 film starring Sophia Loren and Charlton Heston will be released in two separate two-disc editions, a deluxe edition and a collectors edition.

Synopsis:
Epic film of the legendary Spanish hero, Rodrigo Diaz ("El Cid" to his followers), who, without compromising his strict sense of honour, still succeeds in taking the initiative and driving the Moors from Spain.
