According to The Hollywood Reporter, Buena Vista's Eight Below was the top dog over the four-day holiday weekend, getting its paws on about $25 million in gross domestic boxoffice receipts from North American movie houses.

Coming in at number 2 over the Presidents Day holiday was Fox's Date Movie was an estimated $22.3 million. Dropping from No. 1 last week was Sony Pictures' The Pink Panther, which grossed about $21 million, followed by Universal Pictures' Curious George with about $15.3 million. Rounding out the top 5 was New Line's Final Destination 3 with about $12.5 million.

Eight Below was released February 17th, 2006 and stars Paul Walker, Bruce Greenwood, Moon Bloodgood, Wendy Crewson, Gerard Plunkett, August Schellenberg, Jason Biggs, D.J.. The film is directed by Frank Marshall.
