Ant-Man in the works
Edgar Wright said that the film centers on Marvel scientist Hank Pym who, in various incarnations of the comic, could shrink down to the size of an insect to solve crimes, in one iteration with a female companion named The Wasp.
"This one's not about about the urgency of summer tentpoles and things going into production without a script," said Wright, who approached Marvel with the "Ant-Man" idea. "It's slightly different than that."
Edgar Wright first started working on the arthropodal superhero script in 2008, but then he got busy with Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World.
Ant-Man is in development . The film is directed by Edgar Wright.

This is one property I can't wait to see happen, not because I am a huge AntMan fan, but because I am a huge Edgar Wright fan, and I can see him making this something really fun. Hopefully they go with a small budget after the failure of Scott Pilgrim, and hopefully they let Wright do what he wants without trying to sandwich this into the Avengers universe right away. This is a really good way to introduce the character of Pym and establish his relationship with Janet. The fact that Wright has done goofy action-romances (Shaun of the Dead and Pilgrim) really well in the past makes him a perfect fit for this film.
Does this mean we're going to get Simon Pegg as Pym?

I'd love to see an Ant Man/Wasp stand alone movie, then see them full board in Avengers 2 or something. Would be a nice addition to the continuity they have going with the other Marvel movies.
