The site is reporting that Condon already has Eddie Murphy attached to portray Pryor and Fox Searchlight is reportedly interested in Condon's script, which he would also direct. The studio had no comment on the project at this time, though.
Condon previously worked with Murphy in his 2006 film Dreamgirls and has a relationship with Fox Searchlight, since they distributed his directorial debut, Kinsey.

Interesting...Pryor and Murphy were good friends and mutual fans of each other's work. I think Richard would approve.
Murphy did get some critical acclaim for his role in Dreamgirls, so, this casting/project is way cool in my opinion!

wow, well i wouldnt say pathetic. I think that he would play richard pryor very well, they did work together in a movie, and he idolized him and grew great inspiration from pryor. I can get behind this

wtf there was talk for years that Mike Epps was gonna play him in a biopic , even Pryor approved him before he pass on , and is wife also approved him. am an 80's kid so i love murphy but Epps is way the better choice to play Pryor . i dont know what the f*ck happen there
