I should also note that since the economy has been bad, there have been less people spending money at the theatre and more people spending time in front of the TV. Knowing this fact, more actors are taking TV roles because they're going where the money is.

@vanboy: LOL, my point still stands. You said nothing to disprove what I said. Sinise and Fishburne don't need big movie roles because they're on TV now. Furthermore, their schedules simply would not allow them to take on a big movie role in between breaks of shooting their shows. There's simply not enough leeway, or reason, for them to take on the same kind of roles they did before transitioning to TV because they're such huge names, they no longer need the exposure.

As for Brandon, his age really doesn't make a difference. Either he'll be a TV actor or he'll break out into movies. The fact that he's young has nothing to do with either. I can name any number of actors who started out on TV when they were much younger, got noticed, and continued to do TV instead of movies even after a series end, which in turn, kept them in the spotlight. Just because movies give an actor more exposure does not mean they won't find any at all on TV.

Bruce Willis was one of those great actors who was fortunate enough to start out on TV and actually break out into movies. Believe it or not, not every actor cares about whether they do movies or TV. Its all about whatever helps them advance their career. They either start on TV, get noticed, and go do movies. Or they start in movies, don't get noticed, go do TV, find the exposure they're looking for, then depending on what they prefer/what jobs they can land, go do more movies or more TV. Chances are, if a TV actor gets offered another TV role before a movie role comes along, they're probably going to take it, and vice versa.

At this point, someone like Gary Sinise could proabably care less as long as he's still bringing in the money. He has a wife and a family to support. If he can't do movies, he's going to stick with TV, especially when it's going good for him.

Yeah but their careers have been winding down. They haven't had any mainstream movies in a while. What was LF last big role? Armored and Predators? Neither big box office successes? And what about GS? The Forgotten in 2004? Barely on the radar. Don't get me wrong, I really like Sinise. I thought he was a lock for Bones in the new Star Trek. I mean he has everything. The wild eyes, the arched eyebrows and the puffy bags under his eyes. He looks like Deforest Kelley's twin brother. But alas they chose Karl Urban who was a good choice. He played a great Bones.

My point is, these actors can go to TV, because they have had careers and can now take these roles at their age. Brandon Routh is still young and hasn't the clout to be looked at as someone who would add weight to a TV series and would most likely disappear once the series ended. I'm just glad to see that Superflop Returns didn't kill his career.

@vanboy There's nothing wrong with movie actors shifting to TV roles and vice versa as long as they can nail something solid. There are plenty of veteran actors who go to TV long after they've starred in major motion pictures. Gary Sinise and Laurence Fishburne are some good examples of this.

Good to see Brandon Routh not falling to TV. And I think it's quite a step up from Buffy. Everybody says that whenever they see something in a trailer shows it's teeth. And the story looks like just a bit of a twist of different. The condition is,...... manageable".

I do see that Hellboy element. Now that he's a daddy, that surely is the end. If not the sequel will be Hellboy 3: Meet the Pearlmans.

looks like it had potential but the fact that the direction looks like an episode of Buffy and Angel makes me want to pass.

I just don't know about this one. Clearly this film is supposed to have dark humor, but for some reason Brandon Routh and the guy who played Jimmy Olsen onscreen together again just seems a little redundant. @Mieko_Siede said it right though.
