Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has just signed up to star as the title character in The Tooth Fairy. According to Variety, Michael Lembeck has signed on to direct the comedy for 20th Century Fox.

Johnson will play an ordinary man who's brought in to try and save the Tooth Fairy Kingdom. The Tooth Fairy was written by Lowell Ganz, Babaloo Mandel, Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia, and will be produced by Jason Blum, Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray.

20th Century Fox is scheduled to start production on The Tooth Fairy in August.

Tooth Fairy was released January 22nd, 2010 and stars Dwayne Johnson, Ashley Judd, Stephen Merchant, Ryan Sheckler, Seth MacFarlane, Julie Andrews, Chase Ellison, Destiny Whitlock. The film is directed by Michael Lembeck.
