Dwayne Johnson takes on Hercules
The story will be based on Steve Moore graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian War, with Ryan Condol set to adapt the screenplay. The action finds Hercules roaming the earth more than fourteen hundred years ago, as he amasses a small group of mercenaries to fight other people's wars for pay. He eventually finds himself defending Olympus from an army of the damned.
There is no set start date for Hercules. We can most likely expect to see it in theaters sometime in 2013.
Hercules: The Thracian Wars is in development and stars Dwayne Johnson. The film is directed by Brett Ratner.

The Rock could work with this regardless of long hair or not, LOL. But damn Ratner? Hell no, overrated and his last few films sucker! Keep him away from this genre. Rock deserves a better, WAY better director.

The markings are not exactly the same, but I don't know what to make of this news. I would rather see him return to the Scorpion King franchise than do this film and maybe as Kratos.
Since there is a need of good fantasy films, I personally think that Ratner needs to stay away from this sort of gene. Let horror directors do fantasy, fantasy and horror can mess together.
Hercules doesn't have war paint.
