Duncan Jones Set to Escape from the Deep

The director of one of Sundance's biggest hits has found a new film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Duncan Jones (Moon) has signed on to direct Escape From the Deep.

Jones will direct from a script by Alex Kershaw, based on the book of the same name which recounts the true story of an American World War II submarine that sank after a torpedo malfunction. Nine of the ten crew members managed to survive after swimming 180 feet up to the surface from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.

No production schedule was given for the new film.

hmm, i'm sure it's going to be authentic, but the subject matter leaves me exhausted. This sort of thing has been done before.

Surely there is more to the story than that. Will be interesting to see the cast for this one.
