Bobby Farrelly reveals a Dumb and Dumber sequel could happen
"[Dumb and Dumber] has run a bunch of times on TV in the states, and kids will come up and they'll be able to quote lines from that - lines that I've long forgotten. If we could get those two guys back together, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels that might be a worthwhile sequel - and that ball is in motion. We're starting to think about what those two dimwits would be doing twenty-years later in life, and hopefully we'll be able to come up with something worthy of a sequel."
The directors also spoke more about their new comedy project, The Three Stooges. While a cast still hasn't been locked in yet, Richard Jenkins will likely have a role in the movie, although it isn't clear what role that will be. Here's what Bobby Farrelly said about Richard Jenkins ' involvement.
"As we were starting [The Three Stooges], my first question was 'Where we gonna put Richard?' We do have a spot in mind for him... but a lot of it has to do with whether the guy's available and that sort of thing. I hope he is."
Bobby Farrelly also talked a bit about the tone of The Three Stooges.
"We'll probably be a lot less typically Farrelly brothers stuff, we're going to be as true as we can to the spirit of The Three Stooges - they weren't raunchy or outrageous, they were more about the slapstick, almost vaudeville-type humour. It'll probably be less us, more of them."
Dumb and Dumber was released December 16th, 1994 and stars Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, Lauren Holly, Mike Starr, Karen Duffy, Charles Rocket, Victoria Rowell, Joe Baker. The film is directed by Peter Farrelly, Bobby Farrelly.
The Three Stooges was released April 13th, 2012 and stars Sean Hayes, Will Sasso, Chris Diamantopoulos, Jane Lynch, Sofía Vergara, Jennifer Hudson, Craig Bierko, Stephen Collins. The film is directed by Bobby Farrelly, Peter Farrelly.

True, the original movie does have some great lines but it is one of the most annoying movies i have ever seen. That scene where Jim Carey says, "you want to hear the most annoying sound in the world?" Well that pretty much summed up that whole movie to me.

When the prequel was announced I thought : I will never watch that.
If Jeff and Jim did reunite for any future film it shouldn't be in the Dumb and Dumber Universe.
Write a better class of comedy, get the two together and call the film 'Jeff & Jim'. Otherwise, don't bother.

With Carrey & Daniels back it would be solid sequel imo. Can't believe Hall Pass isn't doing well, I thought it looked pretty good myself, I just always wait to watch the comedies when they come out on Netflix and only watch the action films on the big screen.

I love the extended cut of the movie even more.

You know, I love Dumb and Dumber. It still makes me laugh each and every single time I watch it. Great comedy. BUT, I think they should leave it alone. We already got that beyond ridiculously bad prequel movie, Dumb and Dumberer (seriously? Goddamnit), let's not further ruin a good thing. It's possible that lightning could strike twice (and the chances of that are increased given that Daniels and Carrey would be up for it), but I'd prefer things to remain as they are. Of course, the trend these days is to sequelize EVERYTHING, so I'll just shut up and keep my grumblings to myself and go watch Dumb and Dumber again :P
As for Three Stooges, just drop it already, guys, come on...
