Any of the original posters were pretty decent, except for that awful Mistral font they used on the title, total turn off. This one is awesome, although I still prefer this one:

They should make posters like these for films more often

I really need to see this movie, but there's just something about Ryan Gosling I don't like very much. It's not something that makes me hate the man, but there's something I'm not a fan of.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Sony just recycled one of the theatrical posters for the movie. Pretty lazy. Though, I have seen much worse covers. 50/50's was handled very poorly as well and just look at The Rum Diary.

@bojan-vucicevic Drive is an independent release. The cove wasn't going to be that great anyway. I would have actually liked the back of Gosling's Scorpion jacket to be the DVD/Blu-ray cover. Maybe in the future if the current DVD and Blu-rays sell enough copies it will get a proper releases with better cover art and more extras.

@SpaceCowboy -- Actually, the cover Sony choose is very, very sloppy. He has a hammer in his hand that they photoshopped in there, along with a fake blood splat. Meh, who knows. They could've just used the posters that they did for the theatrical release.

The link that you gave me looks much, much better than the one we got.

the cover they used for bluray is terrible. this should have been the official poster for theatrical/dvd/bluray.

  21. SpaceCowboy

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Ha. Nah, I think the cover Sony chose was decent. Not the greatest but it works. An artsy poster like this would have been very sloppy for a Blu-cover. The UK Steelbook is slightly better just because of Gosling's position on the front and the massive pink letting of "DRIVE" above him.

@SpaceCowboy @thedude-abides -- Now this is what they should've used for the DVD/Blu-Ray cover. Instead, they settled for one of the worst covers I've ever seen.

At the Drafthouse? Oh well. Wouldn't have made it anyway. Love how Austinites always come up with the sleekest posters for these kind of events.
