DreamWorks and Nickelodeon Team Up on Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar Cartoon

DreamWorks and Nickelodeon have teamed up to develop two potential weekly series based on DreamWorks Animation features, Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar.

Kung Fu Panda revolves around a lowly waiter in a noodle restaurant whose shape doesn't lend itself to kung fu fighting; the film will be released in theaters in 2008 and features the vocal talents of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman and Ian McShane.

According to Variety, both shows are in the early stages of development with Tom Martin writing the pilot script for Panda, and Paul Rugg writing the Madagascar pilot centered on penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private in a series of new adventures.

No official air date has been scheduled.

Kung Fu Panda was released June 6th, 2008 and stars Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Ian McShane, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross. The film is directed by Mark Osborne, John Stevenson.

Madagascar was released May 27th, 2005 and stars Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Sacha Baron Cohen, Cedric the Entertainer, Andy Richter, Tom McGrath. The film is directed by Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath.
