Lionsgate has picked up rights to Jack Finney's illustrated novel Time and Again with Doug Liman set to helm and produce.

The novel follows Manhattan illustrator Simon Morley, who partakes in a secret government experiment in the mid 20th century. The experiment transports him back to 1882 New York, where he falls in love and struggles with the decision to either go back to his original time or stay in the past with his lover. The novel was originally published in 1970 and has sold 200,000 copies. The author also wrote the fantasy novel "The Body Snatchers" and a sequel to Time and Again titled From Time to Time.

The director is best known for his work on The Bourne Identity and Mr. and Mrs. Smith. He will also direct All You Need Is Kill, which stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt.

I love a good time travel yarn. I think its the consequences of time travel that always got me. Like in The Time Machine when he keeps going back tring to save his wife but she ends up (.....) anyway.

Anyway, this movie sounds interesting AND its written by the guy who wrote Body Snatchers!
