IGN has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming horror film Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, which will be released in theaters nationwide on January 21, 2011. Click on the video player below to watch the first trailer from this film, which was co-written and produced by Guillermo del Toro.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was released August 26th, 2011 and stars Bruce Gleeson, Edwina Ritchard, Garry McDonald, Bailee Madison, Carolyn Shakespeare-Allen, Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Jack Thompson. The film is directed by Troy Nixey.

    why is there a 15-20 sec gap of blk screen? or is that part of the trailer? , its like a blk screen then out of nowhere the trailer starts and shows the preview. humm.. looks good tho.

    Dang it... that little girl is in this movie. She irritates the hell out of me in every movie she's in. However, Guy Pearce and Del Toro make up for it. Pretty cool trailer... even thou it's daytime over here so that took away from the whole dark thing. Still, awesome!

    I might b blind, but i didnt see any CGI in this trailer. Unlike the "boogeyman movie" so lets hope this movie scares us with props and fog not cgi. I wonder if theres a game coming out?

    finally a horror movie that looks like a horror movie. Del Toro is really the only one who understands that torture porn isn't scary, a good scary story with the right atmosphere and creepy monsters is scary.
