An American Haunting: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Donald Sutherland, Sissy Spacek, James D'Arcy and Rachel Hurd-Wood topline An American Haunting, a gothic ghost story that begins filming this week in Romania.

The independent film is being written and directed by Courtney Solomon.

"Haunting" is set during the 1800s in Tennessee, where an unrelenting demon haunts and torments a teenage girl and her wealthy family. It is based on the alleged only documented true case in U.S. history of a spirit causing a person's death, as chronicled in the book "The Bell Witch: An American Haunting" by Brent Monahan.
