Dollhouse Getting Yanked for November Sweeps
The series hasn't been doing so well in the ratings on Friday nights, and it was said that the show would return with back-to-back episodes sometime in December.
It was also reported that Fox executives still do plan to air all 13 of the episodes they ordered for Dollhouse, but a back-nine order doesn't seem to be in the show's future.
We'll be sure to keep you posted with any new developments on the future of Dollhouse as soon as we have more information.

Fox always seems to have a problem with Whedon's shows. They are smart enough to order them but then as soon as a deep following happens they yank the shows. Whedon constantly makes great shows, he even made a miracle happen with Firefly/Serenity.
It's another sad day in TV history whenever a Whedon show is canceled.

At least this means I'll be able to watch "Monk" on Friday nights instead of Sunday mornings.

Yeah, that's basically the main problem with Whedon that he must overcome. He did well with Buffy, because for me that show started off perfectly but it just started going down hill afterward.

oh i guess i missed ur point originally. i get wut u mean now. but i do have to say that most shows, there r exceptions that start in spring/summer don't do good. and Dollhouse was one of those. plus when u start a show on its second season like most new viewers for dollhouse would have done, it is harder to get into it cuz u don't know wut is goin on. honeslty i think dollhouse is sweet and has alot of potential.
that is something Whedon does that is different then most ppl in TV, Heroes and Smallville (and countless other shows) start out with a bang and then die down, but Whedon's shows start out slow and then pay off in later seasons by getting better and better. but that also makes it hard to keep viewers cuz the average person has a short attention span.

By the way, I'm one of those people waiting anxiously for the eight season of 24.

Oh, yeah, I remember that. It was called Drive, back in 2007. It was okay. It seemed more suitable for a mini series or a low budget movie more than it did a tv show. Nathan Fillion was the only reason I had interest in that show. I've never seen Dollhouse, and everyone tells me how good it is, but those same people are Joss Whedon fans and they'll basically like anything the guy puts out.

ya i hear all about Glee, Fox and CBS sits back with huge hits like CSI, Idol, SYTYCD, Sunday animation and football covereage, while NBC sits with the horrible Heroes and like 1 football game contract a week? compared to 7 by Fox and 7 by CBS....i remember Fox has a show called Drive or Driver and it put these certain amount of people in their cars basically racing to the next clue not obeying laws and such, it was very interesting storyline but only saw like 5 episodes and they cancelled it, Fox does its share of cancelling but none to stand out
Dollhouse should be outright cancelled, so what if people send out letters stating to keep it on, Fox should send out a press release stating yall demanded it back so we gave it and yet no one watches it so its gone...people dont like 24 but Fox knows damn well that come January its only 2 things on Fox people care to see 24 and Idol.

Well, brady, your forgetting about Glee which is another big success from Fox. And I would disagree with you about Fox's love for reality shows. I don't count Hell's Kitchen because that's more of a summer show. Really Fox only has two reality shows that functions during the Tv sweeps seasons and that's American Idol and So you think you can dance. If i would call any network a lover of reality shows it would definitely have to be CBS. Big Brother, Amazing Race, and Survivor. And your right Flashpoint has been ordered for more episodes by CBS, but it's still bringing in like 7.5 of viewership which is good for a Friday night show, and CBS kind of has a problem with letting go of bad shows, not saying that Flashpoint is one, but they do have that history.
And Cripple, for now on, when a good show like Kings or anything else from NBC gets moved or canceled, I always look towards the sh*tty Jay Leno show. That show is causing a big mess over at NBC. I hear there gonna change the broadcasting of his show just to one day instead of a whole f*cking week.

this show should be yanked period dont brig it back in December....i agree Newkill Friday/saturday are nights when people go out to the movie theatre or rent movies to watch or they partying....however Flashpoint (Canadian show on US network CBS) has been ordered by CBS for more episodes and its on at 10pm Fridays so go figure and Fox loves its reality series and they bring in massive #s so Dollhouse gets bumped and bumped...the top drama shows on Fox are House, 24 and Fringe they basically reality shows if not those 3 or animation

That's why Kings got canceled, they put it on a sunday night, then moved to saturdays. I don't get why these stations to this to great shows

Exactly, BD, Friday is the hardest, simply because people are out that night. Your absolutely right and you made my point. TV studios realize that average tv watchers are out those days so they don't expect much big ratings. They just want decent enough. Look at how long Cops has been. They don't put up big numbers but Fox realizes that it's pointless to even care. Why do you think studios don't put there big time shows like The Mentalist, 24, House on Fridays and Saturdays. It doesn't matter how good your show is, if you put on Fridays or Saturdays it's not going to put up big numbers, but if Dollhouse can't perform at least some sort of rating it no way it'll make it into the big lineups. It'll get canceled instead. Dollhouse premiere and continued to broadcast on Wednesday nights for it's first season and it did poorly that's why they were going to get canceled in the first place.

wut, friday is the hardest night to get ratings, friday and saturday, they r weekend nights so ppl r out and about, making it harder to get high ratings. sunday is even better cuz ppl r doen with the weekend and want to realize at home b4 work the next day. Friday is normally where they put shows to die. which is wut they did to dollhouse. if it was on Tuesday or Wednesday it would be doin much better.

I heard that this show wasn't even going to get a second season, but then a bunch of fans sent letters bashing Fox to keep the show on, and Fox kept the show and it's still pulling in bad ratings. Even those people aren't watching it because they figured out how bad the show really is or it was a small based group that liked it. Really i don't see how any show that comes on Friday fails. If you can't do well on Fridays, you have no business being on air. Nough said.
