Disney is bringing the cast of Enchanted back for the sequel
Jessie Nelson (Because I Said So) will write the screenplay for the live action fairy tale that Anne Fletcher (The Proposal) will direct. Barry Josephson and Barry Sonnenfeld will return as producers.
The original film starred Amy Adams, James Marsden, Patrick Dempsey and Susan Sarandon. It earned more than $340 million worldwide.
Originally, the film was in development hell for years as filmmakers like Sonnenfeld tried to find a way to tackle the script's comedic tone, musical numbers and blend of animation and live action sequences.
Enchanted 2 is all part of the studio's plans to make more movies that help define the Disney brand. The project revolves around Giselle, a princess who is banished from her animated world by an evil queen. She is then thrown onto the live action streets of Manhattan to take care of herself.
Disney wants to bring back the first film's stars.
Enchanted was released November 21st, 2007. The film is directed by Kevin Lima.

I love Enchanted soooooo Much.
I've watched it 31 times.
If theres no Enchanted 2 theres no reason living.
That sounds Dramatic, but its true.
Every time i watch Enchanted i uncerstand it more.
I'm like Enchanteds #1 fan.

none of the franchises are fan driven any more, it's all about one thing ... Money and it sucks more than ever. Studios don't care, directors care little about what fans think.
We protest and nothing seems to happen, we might as well stop watching Hollywood films all together. But I doubt Hollywood would notice.

enchanted was awesome!!! one of the best disney films in years (not including the pixar gems that they are lucky to be able to put their name on). part of me would love a sequel to enchanted, but my gut is telling me this is a bad, bad idea and that they are simply out to make more money and will not do justice to the disney brand... instead they will do what they've been doing to every classic disney film since eisner took over - make as many sequels and spinoffs as can be made and strip the classics of their good name. there are very few disney movies that actually warrant a sequel (Peter Pan does - if they follow the actual book, and Pixar's The Incredibles are two that scream sequel).
as for enchanted, if adams doesn't come back, they better drop this and run!
