Disney Bumps Up The Princess and the Frog

Disney is taking one of its new animated films out of the crowded holiday spotlight. According to Variety, Disney is moving its animated film The Princess and the Frog from its December 25 release date to a December 11 nationwide release date.

If the film would've opened nationwide on Christmas Day, it would've had competition from the family film Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakuel and, as of now, the only film scheduled to be released on December 11 is Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones.

The studio also announced that the film will premiere in New York and Los Angeles on November 25 before its nationwide rollout on December 11.

The Princess and the Frog was released December 11th, 2009 and stars Anika Noni Rose, Bruno Campos, Keith David, Michael-Leon Wooley, Jennifer Cody, Jim Cummings, Peter Bartlett, Jenifer Lewis. The film is directed by Ron Clements, John Musker.
