Director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo confirmed for Highlander
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, who is currently showing off his latest directorial effort Intruders at the Toronto International Film Festival, is Summit Entertainment's number one choice to helm a remake of the 80s classic Highlander.

Fast Five director Justin Lin was previously set for the project, but was forced to bow out after taking on both Terminator 5 and Fast & Furious 6.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct Highlander from a screenplay by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man), which was recently polished by Melissa Rosenberg (Twilight). Neal H. Moritz and Peter S. Davis will produce.

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is also directing The Crow, with Bradley Cooper attached to star.

Highlander comes to theaters in 2014. The film is directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

Since there's no stopping it, they better dazzle the audience with the sword fights and not stray away from the story

the trick here is to maintain the mythos while not over shadowing it with too much Visual effects which is an influx right now! The series was fine but the films (except the first one) bombed big time... get decent actors better known to give the new film or set of films to a quickening box office
