John Moore will direct Bruce Willis in Die Hard 5
We reported in February that Noam Murro (Smart People) was set to direct Die Hard 5, but he dropped out after landing the 300: Battle of Artemisia directing job in July.
Fox conducted an exhaustive search to find the right Die Hard 5 director who would please both the studio and star Bruce Willis. It is said that Bruce Willis was sold on John Moore's love of the John McClane character and his approach to shooting action-heavy shots without using an abundance of CGI.
Die Hard 5 will be shot in Russia, although no story details have been released yet. It is also believed that Die Hard 5 will be shot before Bruce Willis returns for a sequel to Summit Entertainment's Red. Summit is currently in the middle of their own directorial search for the Red sequel, with Breck Eisner considered to be one of the candidates.
A Good Day to Die Hard comes to theaters February 14th, 2013 and stars Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch, Cole Hauser, Yuliya Snigir, Amaury Nolasco, Megalyn Echikunwoke. The film is directed by John Moore.

Die Hard With A Vengeance was the best in my view. the fouth one just can not compare to it. The 5th one will have to be as good as the third one or better. It just CAN NOT be on the same level as ther fourth one. I just love the level of the action and the story line that goes with it. Maybe what they need for the 5th Die Hard is all those second unit team and whatever else in the movie business, that worked on the the third one or worked with John Woo on Face/Off to work and help John Moore. Maybe they can teach John Moore a few things from what they learn that works.

I've enjoyed them all, even the last one and I'm surprised to hear some say it sucked actually. I'm excited to see how this installment turns out and glad to hear there is a sequel coming for Red as well!

@ChiRep-1 - What? Live Free was your favorite??????? You know we cant pick up sarcasm over the internet, right? Please tell me that is sarcasm......because that movie is a joke and doesn't deserve the Die Hard title.
For God's sake, it's PG-13 in a franchise of R's and it's about a f*cking fire sale!!!! Come on, man....you're better than that.

Live Free or Die Hard was my favorite (despite its flaws) so I'll give this a chance. But Max Payne was awful IMO.

Bring it on. I love every film in this series, and would love to see another. I've said it before, though: go back to the Die Hard staples for the last film (i.e., have the Christmas theme and set it in an enclosed space).

Could be a great or horrible thing. Only Moore film I've ever seen was Max Payne (which i hated). But still, I've had loads of directors surprise the hell out of me in the past, maybe that could be the case here.
And now to get something out of the way before it starts.
The PG-13 vs. R-rated controversy: There's a good chance they'll go out for the R here, but if they don't, how is THAT big a deal? Hasn't it been proven how much movies can get away with in PG-13's nowadays. And if it seriously bothered you in Live Free or Die Hard, there is a VERY VERY simple solution to your problem: WATCH THE UNRATED VERSION!!!!!!!
