Diane Lane discusses playing Superman's adoptive mother, Martha Kent
Here's what else she had to say.
"I love 300 and I'm very flattered to play Martha Kent and live up to his vision. It's pretty cool."
She also talked about honing her motherly skills to play Martha Kent alongside 27-year-old Henry Cavill.
"I've always wanted to raise a good man. I thought that was the biggest challenge a woman could have, and so I get the embarrassment of riches."
It is still unclear who will play Martha's husband, Jonathan "Pa" Kent, although a rumor surfaced last month that Kevin Costner is set for the role. We haven't heard any news on Kevin Costner's involvement in Superman since then.
Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

the only movies i can give zack is 300 and the legend of the guardians the owl movie. i did not like watchmen, i thought it was beautiful looking but other than that. i like dian lane she will be a good ma kent

AAAHHHH Shes sooo HOT!!!! Its going to be the best Sups movie ever! 1) Zack is directing, 2) Henry is sups (who i think is perfect for the role) 3) Starting fresh. I just hope they establish a good evil plot. Pfff Land...so gay. They need to move in the Scifi direction.

Wow martha kent is looking hot... and man do i agree with you guys, liam neeson as jor-el would be beyond epic, maybe they can finally restore superman to his former glory, batman has been taking up all the aweosmeness. i like the direction this is going, and and i remember zack saying that superman was going to get physical in this film, and i thought finally... tear up a city already!

alot of people did'nt like watchmen but it was a great movie it was just like the comic book if you ever read it the only thing zack changed was the ending which was better than book he is one of the best directors out there

Diane Lane is one of those women that just keeps getting better with age. I will never EVER forget the obscenitites she uttered in the hallway sex scene in Unfaithful. She is such a beautiful woman.

@bawnian-dexeus if he returns in TDKR it will more than likely just be a flashback and I just don't know if that'll happen. But yeah they could do it just with his voice if they wanted to. I'd be fine with that. He's just got that God-like voice, which is why he was Zeus and Aslan
