Dermot Mulroney has joined the cast of the drama, Gracie for Picturehouse.

The film is inspired by events in the life of actors Elisabeth and Andrew Shue, which centers on a young girl's battle to join a boy's soccer team. The Hollywood Reporter says Mulroney will take on the role of the father of the girl, Gracie, who is to be played by Carly Schroeder. Elisabeth Shue plays Gracie's mother; while Andrew Shue plays her coach.

Davis Guggenheim is directing Gracie; shooting got underway this week in New Jersey for a summer 2007 release.

Gracie was released June 1st, 2007 and stars Jesse Lee Soffer, Christopher Shand, Carly Schroeder, Karl Girolamo, Vasilios Mantagas, Donny Gray, Emma Bell, Dermot Mulroney. The film is directed by Davis Guggenheim.
