Dermot Mulroney will join the cast, alongside Greg Kinnear in Flash of Genius, a Spyglass drama to be distributed by Universal, according to Variety.

Mulroney will play Gil Privick, best friend of Robert Kearns (Kinnear) and owner of a chain of auto-parts stores. Kearns invented the intermittent windshield wiper and sued Detroit automakers over patent infringement.

The film is currently shooting in Toronto. Marc Abraham is directing from a screenplay by Philip Railsback, Scott Frank and Abraham based the screenplay on a New Yorker story.

Flash of Genius was released October 3rd, 2008 and stars Greg Kinnear, Tim Eddis, Warren Belle, Karl Pruner, Bill Lake, Dermot Mulroney, Lauren Graham, Landon Norris. The film is directed by Marc Abraham.
