NBC's new medical drama has just added another to the duty roster. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Derek Luke has signed on to star in Trauma for NBC.

Luke will portray a soft-spoken trauma surgeon who's also trying to become a family man. Kevin Rankin has also signed on and Cliff Curtis and Jamey Sheridan are in talks to join the cast as well. Curtis would portray an eccentric and brilliant surgeon, who happens to travel by helicopter and Sheridan will play the doctor who runs the trauma center. Rankin will play a paramedic.

In other NBC medical pilot casting news, Guillermo Diaz has joined the cast of the network's other medical drama, Mercy, portraying a male nurse that works with the three central female nurses in the series.

No production schedule was released for either pilot.
