Denzel Washington to Star in The Book of Eli
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros.-based shingle Alcon Entertainment is financing the project and will co-produce with Silver Pictures.
The post-apocalyptic drama is based on a story by Gary Whitta, and scripted by Anthony Peckham, and focuses on the not-so-distant future where America is a wasteland and a lone warrior (Washington) fights to bring society the knowledge that is key to its redemption.
Filming starts in January in New Mexico.
The Book of Eli was released January 15th, 2010 and stars Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Mila Kunis, Ray Stevenson, Jennifer Beals, Evan Jones, Joe Pingue, Frances de la Tour. The film is directed by Albert Hughes, Allen Hughes.

With a new Final Directors Version about to be released and the original having screened throughout on TV and DVD what is the point? Denzel Washington?
