Earlier this month, James Cameron and National Geographic announced the 3D documentary DeepSea Challenge, which will chronicle the director's attempt to reach the world's deepest point, the Mariana Trench. Yesterday, we reported that the director did what he set out to do, hitting the Mariana Trench and setting a new solo dive world record. While it will likely be quite awhile until we see this documentary in theaters, the first footage from James Cameron's record-breaking dive was released in this featurette, which also includes interviews with the filmmaker. Check out the Avatar director making history in this new video.
DeepSea Challenge comes to theaters in 2013 and stars James Cameron. The film is directed by James Cameron.
