Deep Blue Sea 2 Coming Straight to DVD?

It appears that those killer sharks are back for more blood. According to Moviehole, Warner Premiere is readying Deep Blue Sea 2, according to a source at the studio.

Dont' count on any of the original cast or crew members from the original 1999 Deep Blue Sea flick to return though. Apparently Renny Harlin, the director of the original film, will not be helming and at this point, only writers, who weren't revealed, were on board.

Warner Premiere hopes for this to be its next direct-to-DVD title, hitting video shelves sometime next year. We'll keep you posted on any developments surrounding this new film.

the first one was awful! the effects were beyond ridiculous! the best part about it was Jane and LL, but not good enough to bring me to watch it again. poor story development (good initial idea, though) and HORRID effects - the animatronic Jaws at Universal Studios looks more real.
i have ZERO interest in a direct to DVD installment.

First part was cool. It kind of took the "JAWS" persona and brought it up to a new level. Now, coming at it again with another SHARK ATTACK thriller....I got to admit, it's been a little long since they make movies with jaws that really bites. Hopefully this one will make up for the tardiness. Movies based on shark are not absent, just late.

you cant have a deep blue sea2 without THOMAS JANE, and LL COOL J. They were both terrific. i like how Tom rides the sharks. He is a very outstanding actor. and cool j just brings some funny into the movie.

I got a refund on the original from the theater manager when I realized the film preached the message of humans being non-animals.

I think it's probably more of the first, but I don't care because I like alot of the movies that the general public like as well.

IMO Vamp, you tend to like a lot of movies that a lot of people don't like, I dont know if its just because your tastes are opposite that of the general public or if you just have a wider appreciation for bad movies but it's definately one of the two.

Well, IMO, Bloodrayne 2 wasn't all bad, but most times you're right. Of course there ARE exceptions, like Lost Boys 2: The Tribe.

I don't mind another Deep Blue Sea movie, I just dislike that they use the title 'Deep Blue Sea 2' If it is not a real sequel don't throw a 2 in there, it only will piss off people who don't follow movies very closely. Just call it 'Dead Blue Sea: More Sharks' or whatever subtitle the marketing department and director can think of.

With all that said, I don't mind another shark film as long as its done well.

Dosen`t the studio mean: Deep Blue Sh*t 2? Cause seriusly why do they spend money on another sh*t movie?

Seriusly the last one was crap, I am so sick of al the copy-cat killer shark movies... It was enough with the Jaws sequels.
I mean, what is wrong with hollywood? Are every single one of them retarded these days?
