Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont will write Sisters of Mercy for Columbia Pictures.

The story centers around a widowed father left to raise his daughter by himself. When members of his dead wife's book club begin giving him faulty parenting and dating advice, his life starts to fall apart.

Will Smith is being considered for the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith is also producing.
