Adam Berg to direct Deadpool?
Deadpool would mark Adam Berg's feature directorial debut. The director gained acclaim with "Carousel," a stylish short made for Philips Electronics that won the prestigious Cannes Lions International Advertising prize. The bank heist short evokes both The Town and The Dark Knight.
Deadpool is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Whoa. That was a fairly awesome short. The end twist was okay, nothing mind blowing, but to simply create something so neat (I barely saw a flaw) and so awesome with a limited budget I think it was pretty cool. Definitely gonna watch for him.

The Narrator: The Better Man
@Josh, lol, I think you mean Deadpool, not Daredevil. :)
@Narzion, "this guy is better than Robert Rodriguez if you ask me"... doesn't say much for the new director. Rodriguez is definitely not a director to compare talent to. I'm gonna watch the short now, and see for myself.
@ejk, agreed man. Affleck would be pretty sick behind the camera, but he's already stated he doesn't want to revisit the superhero genre. :/
@Summit, understanding a character is easy compared to actually doing him justice. The creators of Origins understood DP. They just didn't give a f*ck about him apparently. Oh, and this is not gonna have a lot of gore or whatnot, so don't expect to get off on ketchup splattering the walls. It'll be a hard PG-13 max. Nor is gore an important factor of DP, although it comes up often (him blowing his brains out for fun comes to mind).

I would prefer Fox or whoever the hell owns the rights to this film to sell it to Marvel Studios. Also this film doesn't need to be directed by a amateur commercial filmmaker (no disrespect to Zack Snyder, who also started in commercials), but rather it should be depicted by a stylistic and crafty filmmaker who has experience with broad cinematography and has knowledge of superhero mythology.

"evokes both the Town and the Dark Knight"
I loved both of those films, but they're not the right tone for Daredevil. There needs to be a dark sense of humor if they want to be faithful. That's not to say Berg couldn't do it; there's no reason to assume he can only do one style and tone, but the character has always been darkly comic.
But I'm disappointed Rodriquez has backed out. I was looking forward to seeing that movie.

He might be a good choice for this flick, the material is there, he just has to get it done right.

By the way, I think they should, in fact, take the "dark" route with Deadpool, not too far from the tone of that short film, similar to The Dark Knight.
Certain characters benefit off of dark toned films and Deadpool is definitely one of them. If they keep it grounded and "reality based" (aside from the super powers and villains, of course) then I think Deadpool could be absolutely incredible.

Yeah I just watched the short film too, friggin awesome work.....very creative and visually incredible!
I usually dont get too excited for first time director's work, especially if it based on subject matter that I like, like Deadpool (lets face it, most directors need a movie or two to get a little experience first), however I'm very excited to see what Adam Berg can do with Dealpool after watching that short film! The guys got talent. He's officially been put on the list of unknown directors to watch out for, along with Carl Rinsch.
He hasn't even done a feature length film before and I can already tell you he's one hundred times better than douche bag Rodriguez, who was GUARANTEED to f*ck up Deadpool, in every way, shape and form!!
So good news all around!

"Some may say, 'It's Deadpool, you can't go wrong.' I say, it can go very wrong very fast."
@Narrator is correct. Have you all forgotten Deadpool's appearance in Wolverine: Origins? How would you like to see that again? Let them get a good director(I'm surprised Affleck hasn't asked about directing; he seems to have found a home behind the camera, and it would let him back into comic book movies), and then create a good story. It's not like Reynolds is going to have free time on his hands, what with GL promotion, and that other project, which I think is called R.I.P.D., waiting in the wings. The point is, there is no reason to rush this, because production at the earliest wouldn't start until next year.

You never know about a no-name director, but little-known Swedish commercial and video director? Hmmm guess we'll see. It's funny MW didn't add "no word yet on if WB will let Ryan Reynolds still do the Deadpool project at this time," since that is the latest. Instead "Deadpool is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds." LOL

The Narrator: The Better Man
I actually disagree with Soy. Take your time. It's something you seem to always have Fux (since they never lose their film rights). Do this right and wait, like you're supposedly doing with the DD reboot. Some may say, "It's Deadpool, you can't go wrong." I say, it can go very wrong very fast. Get thisright the first time.
I'll definitely check Carousel out, to see if this guys got stuff or not.
