Dawn of the Dead to Be Remade Into a TV Series?

Dawn of the Dead Series may be coming to MTV
Dawn of the Dead Series may be coming to MTV
It seems that one of George A. Romero's zombie films is getting the small-screen treatment at MTV. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that MTV is developing a TV remake of Romero's 1978 film Dawn of the Dead.

Little is known about the project, but it seems that this series will employ a mixture of the zombie characteristics from Romero's original film and Zack Snyder's 2004 Dawn of the Dead remake, with some zombies having the ability to run, like in Snyder's remake, and some of the slow-moving variety.

We'll be sure to keep you posted as more details on this new TV project come forward.

Dawn Of The Dead was released May 24th, 1978 and stars David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger, Gaylen Ross, David Crawford, David Early, Richard France, Howard Smith. The film is directed by George A. Romero.

I love Romero's original, it's a classic horror film and Synder did a great job remaking it, but the thought of it being remade once again is nuts. The idea is made even worse by the fact that MTV has their hands on it.

I didn't even bother with it because I didn't like the first one. It bored the hell outta me.

I can actually see this better. I mean when was the last time we saw an epic about surviving in an obsolete and zombified world. 28 days later? Thats the closest I can get to it. This gives viewers a chance to see a band of characters survive in a infected cannibal world, and we can see them for weeks o maybe even months...

Then again it can be complete and utter garbage.

I don't really care if it moves over to the TV. But MTV? Really? What, are the zombies going to have baggy pants, bling, and rap? Hey maybe while they're at it they can go to high school and make a new soap opera. Un-f*ckin-believable.
