David Zucker to Direct a Fourth of July Version of A Christmas Carol?

Comedic director David Zucker's next film will be based on the Charles Dickens classic novel, A Christmas Carol. According to Moviehole, Zucker's version will take place on the 4th of July instead of Christmas.

In the untitled comedy, Scrooge is visited by three spirits and taken on a patriotic journey to see America in a new light. To date nothing has been announced as far as who will be starring in the Zucker comedic satire. The untitled comedy will no doubt be timed with the release of Robert Zemeckis's own version of A Christmas Carol.

Filming for the untitled Zucker comedy will begin next month.

Disney's a Christmas Carol was released November 6th, 2009 and stars Jim Carrey, Steve Valentine, Daryl Sabara, Sage Ryan, Amber Gainey Meade, Ryan Ochoa, Bobbi Page, Ron Bottitta. The film is directed by Robert Zemeckis.

I don't know what to expect with this one. It sounds like another stupid parody film but then again it could be funny. I'll have to see as more info emerges.
