David Yates to Return for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?

David Yates is currently working on the last Harry Potter installment Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but may he bypass the film altogether? Take a look at the young adult author, Lois Lowry's official blog...

Bad news from The Giver Movie front. David Yates, the director currently working on the next Harry Potter film, was supposed to begin The Giver film next. But he has just decided he wants to do the final Harry Potter first, thereby postponing The Giver by several years. Maybe the opening of this film could be held simultaneously with my celebration-of-life service after I succumb to old age? Or the producers will decide to get a different director. Stand by. But without holding your breath.

Warner Bros. is planning to release Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in 2010.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 was released November 19th, 2010 and stars Bill Nighy, Emma Watson, Richard Griffiths, Harry Melling, Daniel Radcliffe, Julie Walters, Bonnie Wright, Rupert Grint. The film is directed by David Yates.

10 times better WOW you need glasses man! you want to talk detail, well what about the black room with the blue candles, the room with the brains and the talk Dumbledore had with Harry at the end-NOT THEIR! And if the Goblet of Fire was not about the triwizard tournament then it would have been called Harry Potter and the Events Surrounding the TriWizard Tournament. And like i said in my last post that i only thought Pheonix was worse then Goblet just because of the screenplay not the directing. Plus, it's really hard to stick 734 pages of detail into a 2hour movie. Plus,Plus out of all the directors Chris was the best!!!!!

Personally, I think Goblet was a one of the worst films and not just in the Potter series. The moment I knew that Newell was directing it I almost started to cry! After the his 'Monalisa smile' disaster, I did not expect more from him. He totally got the Goblet wrong, that book was not about the Triwizard tournament, but the events around it. The Goblet was suppost to be epic and he just took so much detail that is just wrong!

Yates' Phoenix its 10 times better then the Goblet, how ever is not great. The best Potter film is Azkaban and even Rowling agrees because she has not complement any other director about the other films(except Columbus).

At this point I really dont care who directs it, because all Warner cares about is money, not cuality. I do hope they make it two films!!!

I don't mind Yates or even Newell directing again. Columbus, no!! Cauron, maybe? But i would like to see M. Night Shyamalan. Because his movies have a dark feel to them and i think thats what Deathly Hollows needs, i just think it would fit. Plus, Pheonix was not better then Goblet just for the fact that Goldenberg jaked up the screenplay. Thank God for Kloves coming back!!!!!!!!!

Cuaron maybe. Not Columbus. I thought Yates' Phoenix was one of the better films. It kicked the crap out of Goblet.

What??? Can we please get a decent director for the 'Deathly Hollows?' I think Yates' last potter film should be the 'Half Blood Prince,' because the last Potter film was not that good! Can we get Cuaron or Columbus back???? I wish they hire a serious director...
