David Slade will direct Matched for Disney
The project is an adaptation of Ally Condie's young adult novel, published in 2010 as the first part of a trilogy. The story is set in a futuristic world where government officials tell people how to live their lives, with everything from what books they should read to what people they should fall in love with. The plot revolves around a young woman who turns down her appointed romance to forge her own path. The final book in the trilogy, Reached, was published in November.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows writers Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney are adapting the novel, with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot producing. No production schedule was given.
David Slade made a name for himself with edgy fare such as Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night. Insiders suggest that it was his work on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse that helped land him the job.

Also, Slade is doing this? Seriously? What happened to the guy who brought us Hard Candy? I know he's still there because he did a fantastic job with the pilot for "Awake". I hope he gets a solid project soon, because I doubt this'll be it.

I know what you mean, @bawnian-dexeus. More and more concepts and ideas (or rehashing's of them) are successfully coming to light. It makes guys like us wonder if our books or scripts will still have a market come time to print our damn things. Mind you, this plot doesn't interest me since I've discussed similar plots over and over with friends, but I think you catch my meaning.

Like the idea but don't like the choice for director.
